Dalton Roberts will lead the NMU-OTS squad into the Campbell Cup. |
The Northern Michigan Olympic Training Site (NMU-OTS) Greco-Roman wrestling team will send five wrestlers to compete in the Eduardo Campbell International Cup in Panama City, Panama, on Oct. 15-16.
This is the third-consecutive year for the squad to compete at the event, winning the team title in 2014. In 2015, a team of eight Americans took home seven medals for a third-place team finish.
The only USOTS wrestler returning to Panama is Dalton Roberts of Fowlerville, Mich., at 59 kg/130 lbs., who won bronze at the weight in last year’s Campbell Cup. Roberts, who recently returned from the 2016 UWW Junior World Championships, won a spot on the Junior and University World teams earlier this year.
Joining Roberts at 59 kg is Andrew Ibarra of Santa Maria, Calif. Ibarra took fifth at this year’s University Nationals.
At 75 kg/165 lbs., Austria Junior Greco-Roman Open bronze medalist David Prado of Humble, Texas, will represent the United States.
