ISTANBUL, Turkey – Two U.S. women’s freestyle wrestlers have weighed in and received their draws for the 2nd World Olympic Games Qualifier, which continues on Saturday at the Bagcilar Sports Complex.

The two women competing are Kelsey Campbell (Tempe, Ariz./Sunkist Kids) at 58 kg/128 lbs. and Tamyra Mensah (Katy, Texas/Titan Mercury WC/OTC) at 69 kg/152 lbs. They were both champions at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials in Iowa City, Iowa in April.

Campbell opens against 2016 Asian bronze medalist Thi Ly Kieu of Vietnam. If she wins the first bout, Campbell will face 2016 Pan American Championships silver medalist Yanet Sovero Nino of Peru, who had a first round bye.

Campbell was a member of the 2012 U.S. Olympic Team and competed in the 2010 and 2011 World Championships. Campbell was a women’s college national champion at Arizona State.

Mensah opens against 2014 Asian Games bronze medalist Geetika Jakhar of India. Should Mensah win the first round, she could draw 2013 World champion Alina Makhinya of Ukraine.

Mensah is on her first Senior U.S. World-level team. She was a WCWA women’s college champion at Wayland Baptist and is on an Olympic redshirt year training at the U.S. Olympic Training Center.

Both competed in the 1st World Olympic Games Qualifier in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia in late April, while Mensah had a 3-1 record and placed third, while Campbell lost in her opening match.

United World Wrestling is expected to have a live web stream of the competition from Istanbul, and also live results on its website.
