Father, lawyer, wrestling supporter and tumor survivor, Robert Brams is dedicating his time to a campaign to promote wrestling and the fight against cancer. This fundraising effort supports the wrestling program at St. John’s College High School in Washington, D.C. and cancer research at Johns Hopkins University Medicine. Robert's son, Garrett served as co captain of the St. John's wrestling team in 2015 and now wrestles for George Mason University.

Brams' efforts arise from his past experience as a wrestler, the values he sees the sport instill in our youth and the support he received from Johns Hopkins Medicine. Brams was diagnosed with a brain tumor and operated on in 2015 and will always remain grateful for the outstanding and tireless efforts of the medical team at Hopkins.

St. John's was founded in 1851 and provides an outstanding college preparatory education to a co-ed population of 1,100. St. John’s, with its tremendous socio-economic diversity, provides a technologically advanced curriculum and a $3.6M tuition assistance budget that provides aid to qualified students who could not otherwise afford a St. John’s education. Among other notable individuals, St. John's is supported by Kevin Plank, the CEO of Under Armour and a former St. John's graduate.

The world renown team at Johns Hopkins', including its faculty, physicians, nurses and staff, continue to expand services, improve safety and quality, and advance biomedical research. Among other avenues, Hopkins achieves this through local community outreach and international collaborations.

Proud supporters of this effort are major corporate and individual donors, USA Wrestling, Johns Hopkins Medicine, youth wrestling, Beat the Streets and the Wrestlers in Business Network. AECOM, a donor involved with major sporting events, is an international infrastructure company that designed various London Olympics facilities and served as master planners and designers for the upcoming Olympics in Brazil.

Robert's commitment to wrestling includes youth coaching and service as President of and advisor to Wrestling to Beat the Streets in DC, a non profit focused on developing wrestling programs for inner city middle schools. Robert served as counsel to USA Wrestling in its successful effort to bring wrestling back into the Olympics. He now sits on the national board of the Wrestlers in Business Network.

Professionally, Robert is a shareholder/partner and co-chair of the Government Contracts and Projects group at Greenberg Traurig, a 1900 lawyer international law firm. He is married to Kimberly Brams and along with their son Garrett, they have a daughter Taylor.
