Robby Smith headlines #EveryoneWrestles Victory Tour event in Lancaster, Pa., Jan. 6

2016 Greco-Roman Olympian and three-time U.S. World Team member Robby Smith is the headline wrestler for an inspirational evening at the #EveryoneWrestles Victory Tour stop in Lancaster, Pa. on Friday, January 6.
The event is scheduled for the Hamilton Club of Lancaster, located at 106 East Orange Street in Lancaster, PA. The function begins at 6:30 p.m. with registration, photo opportunities and an open bar. From 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. will be the buffet dinner and open bar, followed by the evening program from 8:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Robby Smith captivated the world with his amazing bronze-medal match at the 2015 World Championships against Russian star Bilyal Makhov, getting way behind and fighting back with some great wrestling, just to fall short of the medal. Smith’s active go-for-it style of wrestling has made him one of the most popular wrestlers in the nation. He has been the top USA Greco-Roman heavyweight for four straight years, competing in the World Championships in 2013, 2014 and 2015 and at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Smith is one of the most colorful members of Team USA, a California native who “likes to throw people on their heads.” His personality landed him the emcee role on center mat at the Beat the Streets Gala event in Times Square in New York City last year. We can expect Robby to continue wrestling and pursuing his goals of winning medals for the United States.
The special guest speaker is inspirational wrestler Ben Jackson. Other dignitaries on hand will include Penn State great and two-time NCAA champion Andy Matter, UFC star Charlie Brenneman, Olympic Greco-Roman champion and USA Wrestling executive Steve Fraser and many others.
The event is helping launch Beat the Streets Lancaster, which will provide wrestling and person growth opportunities for young people in the Lancaster area. Hosting the event is “I Wrestled In Pennsylvania.”

(Jan. 18), St. Louis, Mo. alongside the NCAA Championships (March 17), Dallas, Texas (March 30) and the second annual Gala Celebration in Los Angeles, Calif. (June 15).
