U.S. Greco-Roman draws set for Vaanta Cup in Finland on Saturday

Two-time Olympian and six-time World Team member Spenser Mango is among the 15 U.S. Greco-Roman wrestlers at the Vantaa Cup.


VANTAA, Finland - There were 15 U.S. Greco-Roman athletes who weighed in and received their first-round draws for the Vaanta Cup, which will be held on Saturday.


Due to the blind-draw of the tournament, there will be three matchups which feature American wrestlers in the opening round.


Two-time Olympian Spenser Mango (Colorado Springs, Colo./U.S. Army WCAP) opens up against his teammate Jermaine Hodge (Colorado Springs, Colo. (U.S. Army WCAP) at 59 kg/130 lbs. Hodge was a 2009 U.S. Open champion and


Another American matchup is at 85 kg/187 lbs., where 2015 World Team member Patrick Martinez (Colorado Springs, Colo./U.S. Army WCAP) battles against 2015 Pan American Games champion Jon Anderson (Colorado Springs, Colo./U.S. Army WCAP)


The third All-American pairing comes at 98 kg/215 lbs., where three-time U.S. World Team member Caylor Williams (Colorado Springs, Colo./U.S. Army WCAP) opens against Patrick Carey (Minneapolis, Minn./Minnesota Storm)


2012 Olympian Ellis Coleman (Colorado Springs, Colo./U.S. Army WCAP) has a first-round bye at 66 kg/145.5 lbs.


2011 World Team member Cheney Haight (Colorado Springs, Colo./New York AC) has dropped down in weight to 75 kg/165 lbs., where he drew Mateusz Wolny of Poland.
