Hungary wins Junior Greco-Roman World Duals, as VanAnrooy and Hancock get OW awards

CONCORD, Calif. – A strong Junior team from Hungary won the team title in an eight-team international field at the 2015 Junior Greco-Roman World Duals this weekend.
Hungary went a perfect 7-0 in dual meets to claim the team title, including a 41-8 win over the runner-up team from Scandinavia. Placing third was the Viking team from Sweden.
The top American team was a U.S. All-Star team, which finished fourth, followed by American teams from Oregon (fifth), CYC (sixth), Roseburg, Ore. (seventh) and California (eighth).
The two Outstanding Wrestler awards went to American wrestlers.:Layne VanAnrooy from the Roseburg team at 154 lbs/70 kg and G’Angelo “Tracy” Hancock of the USA team at 217 lbs/98.5 kg. Earlier this month, Hancock won the UWW Junior Nationals in Las Vegas, and earned a spot on the U.S. Junior World Team.
Based upon the results, individual medals were awarded. Three Americans won gold medals, VanAnrooy, Hancock and Liam Cronin of the USA team at 49 kg/108 lbs.
In total, American wrestlers won 13 individual medals.
