Lampe loses match as her Bengaluru team falls to Delhi, 43-28 in Indian Pro Wrestling League

BENGALURU, India – American star Alyssa Lampe lost a match by technical fall, as her Bengaluru team was defeated by Delhi, 43-28 in an Indian Professional Wrestling League dual meet on Wednesday.
Lampe, a two-time World bronze medalist, was beaten by Vinesh Phogat of India in their 48 kg/105.5 lbs. bout in a 10-0 technical fall. Vinesh Phogat was a 2014 Commonwealth Games champion and a 2015 Asian Championships silver medalist.
Lampe now has a 2-2 record in her matches at 48 kg during the India Pro Wrestling League regular season.
Bengaluru won three of the seven matches contested to drop the dual meet. Bengaluru’s record drops to 2-3, while Delhi won its first dual meet of the season and improved to 1-4.
The regular portion of the dual meet season completes on Thursday, Dec. 24, when three-time World champion Adeline Gray of the United States leads Mumbai against Haryana in Bengaluru. Mumbai, at 4-0, is the only undefeated team in the PWL so far this season.
The post season will be held in New Delhi, and will include one semifinal bout on December 25 and the second semifinal bout on December 26, with the championship finals set for December 27.
