USA Wrestling Weekly, the 30-minute television show created by USA Wrestling, is releasing its 200th episode on Friday, November 7.
For almost four years, USA Wrestling has brought the latest news and features from USA Wrestling, covering all levels of the sport in the United States and around the world. The first episode was aired in January 2011. The show is available through various cable television outlets, as well as internet distribution.
During those 200 weeks, USA Wrestling Weekly has covered the 2012 Olympic Games in London, England and three Senior World Championships, the 2011 Worlds in Istanbul, Turkey, the 2013 Worlds in Budapest, Hungary and the 2014 Worlds in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
There have been thousands of interviews with athletes, coaches and leaders at all age levels, and coverage of hundreds of events. USA Wrestling Weekly also provided complete coverage of the successful 2013 Keep Olympic Wrestling movement, which resulted in wrestling retaining its rightful place in the Olympic Games.
The content for each episode is created by USA Wrestling’s Communications staff, which includes collecting video and graphics, conducting interviews and the creation of the weekly script. Help comes from other members of the USA Wrestling staff, volunteers and partner organizations, each which provides valuable content and input.
Each week, the show is produced by Takedown Wrestling Media in Des Moines, Iowa. The producers of the show at this time are Brad Johnson and Mark Bimson. Moderating each episode is award-winning wrestling broadcaster Scott Casber.
“Today we celebrate the 200th episode of USA Wrestling Weekly. A special thanks to Gary Abbott and the Communications Team at USA Wresting who have worked tirelessly with Scott Casber and his crew to keep the entire wrestling community informed of the weekly happenings in our sport. Wrestling is more connected than ever due to their efforts. We are very proud of the product and look forward to its continued improvement to move the sport forward.
