Cadet National Duals set for June 11-14 at Daytona Beach, Fla., with Illinois defending champ in both styles

USA Wrestling’s popular Cadet National Duals will be hosted at the Ocean Center- Exhibit Hall in Daytona Beach, Fla., June 10-14.
Greco-Roman will be held Wednesday June 11 through Thursday afternoon, June 12. Freestyle will begin Friday June 13 and concludes Saturday night on June 14.
The tournament features top state-level teams competing in the two Olympic styles. Many of the nation’s best 15-16 year old wrestlers will be on display, including athlete’s excepted to star at the ASICS/Vaughan Cadet Nationals in Fargo, N.D, In July.
Illinois is the defending champion in freestyle at the Cadet National Duals, defeating Pennsylvania, 43-31 in the finals last year. Oklahoma Red took third place, beating Indiana, 41-7. Taking fifth place was Ohio Red beating Maryland, 48-32. Rounding up seventh was California, beating Georgia Red, 46-32.
Illinois also is the defending champion in Greco-Roman at the Cadet National Duals, defeating Pennsylvania, 60-18 in the finals. Utah wrapped up third, beating Georgia, 41-34. Fifth place went to New Jersey, defeating Maryland, 37-37. Finishing seventh was Washington over Pennsylvania Blue 46-36.
Many of these athletes competing in Daytona Beach are expected to challenge for national titles and All-American honors at the ASICS/Vaughan Cadet National Championships in Fargo, N.D., July 19-26.
For the time, the event will be broadcast live on Flowrestling, as part of its series of USA Wrestling events on its Flo Pro platform
