Three wrestlers still in Triple Crown mix as Cadet Nationals freestyle tourney kicks off

FARGO, N.D. – Three wrestlers remain alive to win prestigious USA Wrestling Cadet Triple Crowns

California’s Jaden Enriquez (126 pounds), Wisconsin’s Beau Breske (170) and Minnesota’s Keegan Moore (182) each kept their Cadet Triple Crown quests alive on Wednesday at the Fargo Dome. 

Enriquez, Breske and Moore each advanced to the quarterfinal round as the Cadet Nationals freestyle tournament kicked off on Wednesday.

Those wrestlers already own Cadet Nationals titles in Folkstyle and Greco-Roman. 

The Cadet competition continues on Thursday with the finals set for Friday in Fargo.

2013 Cadet National freestyle champion Taylor LaMont of Utah reached the quarterfinals at 126. He won a Cadet Nationals Greco title here on Monday. 

There are 10 other Cadet Nationals Greco champions still alive to win a Cadet freestyle title and be a double Fargo champion.

Those wrestlers include California’s Nicolas Aguilar (94 pounds), Arizona’s Roman Bravo-Young (100), Nevada’s Ian Timmons (106), Ilinois’ Austin Gomez (113), Texas’ Coltan Williams (120), Missouri’s Ethan Karsten (138), Idaho’s Matthew Park (145), Minnesota’s Owen Webster (160), Ohio’s Matt Stencel (195) and Ohio’s Kevin Vough (285) 

Illinois is looking to repeat as Cadet Nationals freestyle team champion.

There are 979 entries in the Cadet Nationals freestyle tournament, an increase of more than 100 athletes from last year. There are 46 states represented in the Cadet freestyle field.
