SPIRE named an official training site for USA Wrestling

USA Wrestling, the national governing body for wrestling in the United States, has named SPIRE as an official training site for USA Wrestling.
SPIRE is located in Geneva, Ohio. SPIRE is an $85 million dollar facility that is one of the largest indoor sport, training and competition complexes in the world. SPIRE features more than 175 acres of Olympic-grade facilities with more than 750,000 square feet under roof plus a multi-sport stadium complex — hosting some of the largest sporting events in the country.
SPIRE will provide on-site training facilities and meals for officially sanctioned USA Wrestling training camps for wrestlers, coaches, officials and High Performance Teams as scheduling allows. USA Wrestling will assist SPIRE in developing relationships with appropriate groups related to USA Wrestling.
“USA Wrestling is excited to partner with SPIRE. With SPIRE being one of the top training and competition facilities on the planet, the partnership will afford wrestlers with a wonderful opportunity to train and prepare at a facility that was built with their needs in mind. We are humbled that the Team at Spire has chosen to partner with USA Wrestling and we are confident that this arrangement with substantially benefit both groups for many years to come,” said USA Wrestling Executive Director Rich Bender.
“We are so pleased to have finalized our partnership with USA Wrestling. Given our region’s strong history, and significant ongoing interest in wrestling, we feel that this will be a very positive relationship that will benefit not only USA Wrestling and SPIRE, but our region as a whole. USA Wrestling manages the National Team programs in the three Olympic styles of the sport – men’s freestyle, Greco-Roman and women’s freestyle. The United States is one of the top powers in the world in Olympic wrestling, winning a total of 128 Olympic medals, including 52 Olympic gold medals. USA Wrestling provides wrestling programs and opportunities at all age levels, from youth athletes through the Olympic Games.
As training camps and other USA Wrestling activities are developed in partnership with SPIRE, they will be announced.
SPIRE has already made a major impact within the U.S. Olympic family. It has been designated an official U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Training Site by the United States Olympic Committee.
A number of sports which participate in the Olympic family have developed working relationships with SPIRE and utilized its outstanding facilities, programs and resources including USA Track and Field, USA Swimming, USA Triathlon, USA Volleyball and USA Wheelchair Basketball.
