Ohio State wrestler and football player Kosta Karageorge found dead in Columbus, Ohio Sunday

USA Wrestling offers condolences to the family and friends of Ohio State student-athlete Kosta Karageorge, who was found dead in Columbus, Ohio this weekend.
Karageorge, 22, from Worthington, Ohio competed on the Ohio State wrestling team for three seasons at heavyweight. He was also a member of Ohio State’s football team, joining the Buckeyes team this year as a walk-on, playing defensive tackle.
Media reports indicate that Karageorge was reported missing by his family and friends for a number of days. Police are still investigating the death,
"We are shocked and saddened to learn today of death of student-athlete Kosta Karageorge, a senior from Columbus. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Karageorge family, and those who knew him, during this most difficult time," posted Ohio State through its Twitter feed.
Karageorge won 35 matches competing for Ohio State as a junior in the 2013-14 season, including three Open tournament titles. He was a starter in two of Ohio State’s dual meets in 2013-14. He also competed for the Buckeyes in the 2013 Big Ten Championships.
He was a redshirt senior, studying early childhood education.

Karageorge was sixth in the 2010 Ohio State high school wrestling championships, competing for Thomas Worthington High School.
More than 400 Ohio State students held a vigil in his honor on the Ohio State campus Sunday night.
