Fix, Olivas receive draws for Youth Olympic Games in men's freestyle

The final two U.S. athletes competing at the Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing, China have weighed in and received their draws for the men’s freestyle competition tomorrow.
Cade Olivas of Fontana, Calif. will compete at 46 kg/101.4 lbs. and Daton Fix of Sand Springs, Okla. will man the 54 kg/119 lbs. spot for the U.S.
There are eight athletes competing in each weight class at the Youth Olympic Games. Each weight is broken down into two pools of four athletes. Wrestlers will face each athlete in his respective pool before cross bracketing with the opposite pool to determine final placements.
Olivas has drawn 11th place finisher at the FILA Cadet World Championships Cabbar Duyum of Turkey, Cadet Mediterranean Champion Mohamed Hegab of Egypt and Miguel Angel Gurdian Lopez of Nicaragua in the pool round at 46 kg/101.4 lbs.
Olivas was a 2013 FILA Cadet World bronze medalist in Greco-Roman and finished in seventh place at the FILA Cadet Worlds in freestyle in July. He won both styles at the 2014 Pan American Cadet Championships.
Fix will face 24th place finisher at the FILA Cadet World Championships Elmedin Sejfulau of Macedonia, 13th place finisher at the FILA Cadet World Championships and Cadet African Champion Reynhardt Louw of South Africa and 13th place finisher at the Cadet Asian Championships Ebrahim Abdullah Ali Al-Shebami of Yemen in pool competition at 54 kg/119 lbs.
Fix finished in 10th place at the FILA Cadet World Championships in men’s freestyle. He won both styles at the 2014 Cadet Pan American Championships.
Wrestlers participating in the Youth Olympic Games competition are in the FILA Cadet age group (ages 15-17 years old).
