New York AC International brackets
The first major international tournament of the new season hosted in the United States, the annual New York Athletic Club International, is starting on Friday morning with the women’s freestyle and Greco-Roman divisions.
The event will be streamed live by TheMat.com and TheMat.tv, with all three mats webcast live.
The highlight of the first day will be the return to the mat of 2008 Olympic bronze medalist Randi Miller of United States (67 kg). It will be Miller’s first competition since winning the bronze medal at the Olympic Games in Beijing, China in 2008. Miller competes for the U.S. Army WCAP program now.
The women’s tournament features three multiple World medalists: World champion and two-time World bronze medalist Adeline Gray of the United States (72 kg), World champion and World bronze medalist Jessica MacDonald of Canada (51 kg) and two-time World bronze medalist Alyssa Lampe of the United States (48 kg).
Two-time Olympian Spencer Mango of the United States (55 kg) leads the Greco-Roman field, which includes a number of past U.S. World Team members, as well as a variety of talented international athletes.
The first day of competition will feature 78 Greco-Roman entries and 69 women entries.
In the women’s freestyle and Greco-Roman divisions, there are 12 foreign nations represented in the event: Japan, Puerto Rico, Korea, Canada, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Brazil, Georgia, Honduras, Russia and Israel.
The men’s freestyle athletes will weigh in on Friday, and will compete on Saturday.
