Miracle named Outstanding Wrestler at Body Bar FILA Cadet Nationals in Florida

LAKELAND, Fla. -- The 2012 U.S. FILA Cadet World Team was determined at the Body Bar FILA Cadet Nationals on Saturday.
Champions in the 10 FILA weight classes qualify for the U.S. team at the 2012 FILA Cadet World Championships in Baku, Azerbaijan, August 21-27.
Kayla Miracle of Team Indiana was named Outstanding Wrestler after capturing the gold medal at 56 kg/123.25 lbs. She defeated Areana Vileascusa of Rio Rico WC in the Championship Series in two straight bouts, winning the first match 7-0, 3-2 and the second match 3-1, 7-1.
Miracle qualified for her second straight U.S. FILA Cadet World Championships team. She made the FILA Cadet World Team last year at 49 kg/108 lbs.
She survived a difficult pool competition with five straight wins to reach the finals, including two falls. Miracle survived a challenging 0-3, 5-0, 4-3 pool finals match against talented Teshya Alo of Team Hawaii to advance to the Championship Series.
Also qualifying for their second U.S. FILA Cadet World Teams are the Doi sisters from the SD Hot Beaches, Marina Doi at 38 kg/75 lbs. and Regina Doi at 40 kg/88 lbs. Both won their divisions uncontested. Marina was second at the 2011 FILA Cadet World Championships at 40 kg/88 lbs.
Qualifying for her first FILA Cadet World Team after placing second at last year's FILA Cadet Nationals was Amy Hou of Team Georgia at 46 kg/101.25 lbs. Hou needed three matches to defeat Kaylee Chevez of Rebel Wrestling in the Championship Series. Chevez won the first match, 4-0, 6-0, but Hou bounced back to win bout number two, 3-4, 3-2, 1-0. In the deciding third match, Hou triumphed 1-4, 2-2, 4-3.
Four other Best of Three Championships Series went the full three matches, with champions determined in the final match. Claiming the World Team berths at their weights after winning deciding third matches were Julia Long of Team Wyoming at 43 kg/94.5 lbs., Cadence Lee of Dave Schultz WC-Titans at 49 kg/108 lbs., Francesca Giorgio of WOW at 52 kg/114.5 lbs. and Cristta Hartinger of New York at 60 kg/132.25 lbs.
Hartinger won a battle of New York stars in her Championship Series, defeating 2011 Cadet Nationals and Junior Nationals champion Rosemary Flores in the finals series. Hartinger lost the opening match, but ralled back with victories in the final two bouts to take the World Team spot.
Winning FILA Cadet World Team berths by sweeping their Championship Series in two straight matches were Alyssa LaFrances of KeithWilson/ No Mercy/West Covina at 65 kg/143.25 lbs. and Anastasia Lobsinger of 4 Horsemen at 70 kg/154 lbs.
LaFrancis swept Jackeitha Baker of NYAC in two straight bouts, while Lobsinger pinned Olivia Toth of Nieves Wrestling in both of their Championship Series bouts.
Winning a gold medal in a non-FILA weight class which does not advance to the World Championships was Kaitylyn Hill of Michigan Women's Wrestling at 78 kg/171.5 lbs.
