Past NCAA champions Donahoe, Moore win Northeast Senior Freestyle Regionals

BROCKPORT, N.Y. - A pair of past NCAA champions, Paul Donahoe and Derek Moore, were among the winners at the Northeast Senior Freestyle Regionals held at SUNY-Brockport on Saturday.
The champions at the Northeast Senior Regionals earn a spot in the World Team Trials in Council Bluffs, Iowa, June 11-12.
Donahoe, who was a NCAA champion for Nebraska and completed his career at Edinboro, captured the 55 kg/121 lbs. title.
Donahoe (Iowa City, Iowa (Gator WC) defeated talented Mark McKnight (Pittsburgh, Pa./Lehigh Valley AC), 3-0, 6-0 in the finals. He was named Outstanding Wrestler in the tournament.
Moore, who was a NCAA champion for UC-Davis, scored a technical fall over Steve Bonanno (Wantagh, N.Y./Strong Island Wrestling), 7-0, 7-0 in the finals. Moore competes for the U.S. Army.
Winning the 66 kg/145.5 lbs. with a strong performance was Kyle Borshoff (Pittsford, N.Y./Titan Worldwide), who defeated Justin Pearch (Colorado Springs, Colo.?U.S. Army, 0-1, 3-1, 1-0. Borshoff was a star at American University.
Two wrestlers who compete for Hofstra, PJ Gillespie (Long Beach, N.Y./Strong Island Wrestling) at 84 kg/185 lbs. and Paul Snyder (Hempstead, N.Y./Strong Island Wrestling) at 120 kg/264.5 lbs. won titles.
Other individual champions were James Allen (Allentown, Pa./Matrix) at 74 kg/163 lbs. and Alex Dolly (Haslett, Mich.) at 96 kg/211.5 lbs.
The competition concludes on Sunday with the Senior Greco-Roman division.
