Last set of Greco-Roman qualifiers advance with victories at Rocky Mountain Regional Olympic Trials

PUEBLO, COLO.- The Rocky Mountain Olympic Regional Trials, held at Massari Gym at CSU-Pueblo, was the last chance for athletes to qualify for the U.S. Olympic Team Trials.
The seven champions from Friday's Greco-Roman competition will advance to the U.S. Olympic Team Trials in Las Vegas, Nev., June 13-15.
Among the champions was Roger Stewart (Colorado Springs, Colo./New York AC), a deaf athlete who trains at the U.S. Olympic Training Center, who captured the 55 kg/121 lbs. title with a fall in the finals.
A top local champion was Univ. of Northern Colorado star Tony Mustari, who won the title at 60 kg/132 lbs. Mustari was a high school star in Colorado, and a former Junior Nationals champion.
Two members of the Greensboro Y.E.S. club were individual champions, Chris Bullins at 74 kg/163 lbs. and Daren Burns at 120 kg/264.5 lbs.
Other individual champions were Shanon Slack (No Limits) at 66 kg/145.5 lbs., Abe Haddon of the USOTC at 84 kg/185 lbs. and Mark Simmonds of the All-Navy Club at 120 kg/264.5 lbs.
