Summer is winding down and the USA Wrestling National Beach Championships has been held, but USA Wrestling's Beach Wrestling schedule continues with plenty of action in August.
There will be more exciting sanctioned Beach Wrestling events held across the nation this month, offering wrestlers of all ages a chance for top quality competition, as well as the fun and excitement that comes with a day at the beach.
August events will be held in New Hampshire, New Jersey and New York, giving wrestlers another opportunity for a great competition and some special activities and attractions.
Two of the events will be held this weekend.
For the second straight year, the New Hampshire Beach Wrestling Tournament will be held on the popular beach community in Hampton, N.H. on Saturday, August 4. The event is expected to grow in size this year, offering New England athletes a great weekend. For information, contact Jaime Sullivan at (603)926-8492 or via e-mail at jsullivan@hamptonpd.com
A new beach wrestling event, the Mid Atlantic Beach Wrestling Championships, will be held at Morrie's Pier in the vacation community of Wildwood, N.J., Saturday August 4 and Sunday, August 5. Organized by respected promoter Frank Lipoli, the event features an individual tournament on Saturday and dual meets on Sunday, using the popular "Virginia-style" beach rules.
