J'den Cox named Person of the Year by NWHOF Missouri chapter

2016 Olympic bronze medalist J’den Cox has been named Person of the Year by the Missouri chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame.
A two-time NCAA champion and senior at Missouri, Cox will be honored at the Hall of Fame Banquet on Sunday, Oct. 23, in Columbia, Mo.
Competing in his first Senior international season, Cox won the Olympic Team Trials at 86 kg and qualified his weight for the Olympics at the Olympic Qualifier in Mongolia He surprised many by winning the bronze medal at the Rio Olympics his first time on Team USA.
This is the second Person of the Year honor for Cox, a product of Hickman High School, as he was awarded it in 2014, following his first national championship.
Along with Cox, seven others will be honored, including five Lifetime Service to Wrestling award winners, an Outstanding American and Family Circle Honor recipient.
There will be a social at 3 p.m. followed by the banquet at 4 p.m.
Reservations must be made in advance. Banquet tickets can be purchased for $50 per adult and $15 for children. Tables are available for $400 and will allow for seating of up to eight people.
