The USA Wrestling Women’s College Wrestler of the Year Award, now in its fourth year, has been named the Anthony-Maroulis Trophy after Victoria Anthony and Helen Maroulis, who are the first four-time women’s college national champions.

Anthony and Maroulis both won a fourth WCWA national title in 2014 as teammates at Simon Fraser University, becoming the first wrestlers in history to achieve the feat. Anthony earned her title first at 109 pounds, and was quickly followed by Maroulis at 130 pounds.

Both women went on to represent USA Wrestling with great success internationally. Maroulis was the first U.S. woman to win an Olympic gold medal in wrestling and the first three-time Olympic medalist. She is a four-time Senior World champion and eight-time Senior World medalist. Anthony was a two-time Senior World Team member, finishing in fifth place in both of her World Championships appearances. She also won a pair of gold medals at the U20 World Championships.

Since 2014, six others have reached the threshold of four national titles—Emily Webster of Oklahoma City, Kayla Miracle of Campbellsville, Emily Shilson of Augsburg and McKendree, Sydnee Kimber of McKendree, Dymond Guilford of Missouri Baptist and Cumberlands, and Cameron Guerin of McKendree. In fact, Shilson and Guerin have claimed a remarkable five crowns.

The Anthony-Maroulis Trophy is presented annually to the nation’s top women’s college wrestler. Athletes from all recognized college organizations sponsoring women’s wrestling, including NCAA, NAIA and NJCAA, are eligible for the award.

Previous winners of the award were Yelena Makoyed of North Central (2023), Adaugo Nwachukwu of William Penn (2024) and Kennedy Blades of Iowa (2025). Each of these winners will be retroactively presented with an Anthony-Maroulis Trophy to celebrate their accomplishments.

The finalists for the 2026 USA Wrestling Anthony-Maroulis Trophy will be announced on Thursday, March 26, along with the opening of the public voting process.
