Two-time Olympic gold medalist Bruce Baumgartner will light the cauldron at the Olympic Training Center on Friday night as part of Colorado Springs' Rio Olympic Downtown Celebration.

Baumgartner, who has won a total of four total Olympic medals in men’s freestyle competition, will be joined by the 2016 U.S. Olympic Greco-Roman Team, which includes two-time World bronze medalist Andy Bisek, two-time Olympian Ben Provisor, Junior World bronze medalist Jesse Thielke, fan-favorite Robby Smith and their coaches.

A special celebrity Torch Run will kick off the event in Colorado Springs, Olympic City USA, starting at the North side of the Olympic Training Center Visitor Center at approximately 5 p.m. with a very brief lighting ceremony, followed by the run. The route will proceed west on Boulder Street to Tejon Street and then south to the NBC stage at Tejon and Colorado Avenue in the heart of Downtown. The cauldron lighting ceremony is scheduled to start at 5:26 p.m., just ahead of the televised Opening Ceremony, with Baumgartner lighting the flame.

One of the torch bearers is Hilary Wolf-Saba, a member of the 1996 and 2000 U.S. Olympic Team in Judo and wife of 2016 U.S. Olympic Greco-Roman coach Chris Saba. Their children are also wrestlers.

The Rio Olympic Downtown Celebration's "Carnival on Tejon," will present NBC's coverage of the Opening Ceremony on a 27-foot Jumbotron screen in the city's Downtown along at 6:30 p.m., following a special celebrity Torch Run and lighting ceremony that begins at the U.S. Olympic Training Center with Olympic medal winners and many well-known athletes who were members of past U.S. Olympic Teams and some who will be on their way to the Olympic and Paralympics in Rio.

The nation's preeminent celebration of the Opening Ceremony of the Rio Olympic Games is presented by NBC, Sam and Kathy Guadagnoli, and Budweiser, and supported by AT&T, the United States Olympic Committee, the City of Colorado Springs, the Downtown Partnership, The Gazette, El Pomar Foundation and the Colorado Springs Sports Corporation.
