Caley Graber (Northfield, Minn./Summit Wrestling Academy) has been selected as USA Wrestling Athlete of the Week on Nov. 3, 2020.
Graber competed at the 2020 Brian Keck Memorial Preseason Nationals over the weekend in Des Moines, Iowa. She collected two titles in the same day, winning the middle school girls’ division as well as the middle school boys’ division. She was also awarded the Outstanding Wrestler for the girls’ division.
En route to her boys’ title, Graber went 5-0, scoring two wins by pin and three decisions. In her gold-medal match, Graber defeated Neal Krysty of Ohio with a 3-1 decision for the 83-pound title.
Later that afternoon, Graber registered three pins for the 85-pound middle school girls’ crown. In her second final of the day, Graber pinned Sandy Breeden in just 41 seconds.
Each week USA Wrestling will select an Athlete of the Week based upon performance within wrestling for that week. The selection committee will consider any level of wrestling from youth programs through the senior level. Twitter fan votes also play a part in decision.
To nominate a wrestler for this honor please send the athlete's name, wrestling program, weekly accomplishments and career accolades to USA Wrestling Manager of Communications Taylor Miller at tmiller@usawrestling.org.
