Mosha Schwartz (Franktown, Colo./Team Colorado) has been named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week.

Each week, TheMat.com will select an Athlete of the Week, based upon performance within wrestling for that week. The selection committee will consider any level of wrestling, from youth programs through the Senior level.

Schwartz earned a coveted USA Wrestling Triple Crown during the Cadet Nationals in Fargo, N.D.

Schwartz capped his historic feat by claiming a hard-fought 11-8 win over Idaho’s Ridge Lovett in the Cadet Nationals freestyle finals at 88 pounds on July 25 at the Fargo Dome.

Schwartz captured a Cadet Greco-Roman championship earlier in the week in Fargo. He also won a USAW Cadet Folkstyle Nationals title in April in Cedar Falls, Iowa.

Schwartz came back from an 8-6 deficit to defeat Lovett, a past USA Wrestling Intermediate Triple Crown winner, in the Cadet freestyle finals.

Schwartz was the lone USA Wrestling Triple Crown winner in the Cadet or Junior division this year.
