Whitney Conder named USA Wrestling Athlete of the Week

Whitney Conder (Colorado Springs, Colo./U.S. Army) has been named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week.
Each week, TheMat.com will select an Athlete of the Week, based upon performance within wrestling for that week. The selection committee will consider any level of wrestling, from youth programs through the Senior level.
Conder captured a silver medal at the Klippan Lady Open this past weekend in Klippan, Sweden.
Conder, a past U.S. World Team member, went 3-1 in women’s freestyle at 53 kg/116.5 lbs. in the event.
Conder won by fall over Hungary’s Mercédesz Dénes before earning wins over Scotland’s Shannon Hawke and France’s Aurélie Basset. She then fell to Russia’s Maria Gurova in the finals.
