Michigan's Freddie Rodriguez named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week for April 6-12

Freddie Rodriguez (Holt, Mich./Team Michigan) has been named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week for April 6-12.
Each week, TheMat.com will select an Athlete of the Week, based upon performance within wrestling for that week. The selection committee will consider any level of wrestling, from youth programs through the Senior level.
Rodriguez captured USA Wrestling FILA Cadet National titles in Greco-Roman and freestyle on April 9-11 in Akron, Ohio.
Rodriguez downed Jered Cortez of Illinois 0-1, 4-0, 4-1 to win the freestyle title at 50 kg/110.25 lbs. He beat Sam Brancale of Minnesota 2-4, 8-6, 6-0 in the Greco-Roman finals.
Rodriguez has captured four national titles over the past three weekends.
Rodriguez won a USA Wrestling Folkstyle Nationals title on April 2 in Cedar Falls, Iowa. He also won a FloNationals title the previous weekend in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.
