Michaela Hutchison named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week for Sept. 30-Oct. 6

Michaela Hutchison (Soldotna, Alaska/Oklahoma City University) has been named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week for Sept. 30-Oct. 6.
Each week, TheMat.com will select an Athlete of the Week, based upon performance within wrestling for that week. The selection committee will consider any level of wrestling, from youth programs through the Senior level.
Hutchison won a pair of matches to lead Oklahoma City University to a pair of women's dual-meet wins on Oct. 4 in Oklahoma City. The Stars beat a team from the U.S. Olympic Education Center 30-13 in the featured dual. They also downed Lindenwood (Mo.) by a 44-2 score.
Hutchison beat USOEC wrestler Amy Whitbeck 6-0, 5-0 at 55 kg/121 lbs. and won by fall over Lindenwood's Priscilla Caldera.
Hutchison placed ninth at the 2008 Junior World Championships.
