Four returning champions reach finals at USMC Women’s U15 Nationals in Fort Worth, Texas

FORT WORTH, Texas – Four 2021 U15 national champions won their semifinal matches and have qualified for the finals at the USMC Women’s U15 Nationals on Friday.
Returning U15 champions who have reached the finals are Morgan Turner of Toss Em Up Wrestling Academy (IL) at 39 kg, Emma Bacon of Pennsylvania (46 kg), Juliana Ocampo of Indiana (50 kg) and Isabella Marie Gonzales of California (54 kg),
Turner, a U15 and 14U National champion last year, will wrestle Kendall Moe of Indiana in the finals series.
Bacon, who also won U15 and 14U Nationals titles last year, will battle Florida star Mary Manis of the Spartan RTC FL in the finals. Manis is ranked No. 10 in the nation on the high school level.
Ocampo, who has a No. 6 national ranking in high school, will face Mariah Dillard of Texas in the finals. In the semifinals, Dillard beat Libby Roberts of Washington, who has a No. 25 national high school ranking.
Gonzales, who won the U15 and 14U Nationals last year, is ranked No. 7 nationally in high school She will battle Kaylyn Harrill of Nebraska in the finals.
Other finalists who have a national high school ranking are 62 kg finalist Jordan Fouse of Pennsylvania (No. 14 nationally) and 66 kg finalist Sarah Henckel of Connecticut (No. 15 nationally).
Fouse will face Isis France of Arizona in the finals. Henckel will battle Sandilynn Tuinei of Nevada for the championship.
There were numerous nationally ranked high school girls who were not able to reach the finals in a very competitive tournament.
