The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has officially announced the qualifiers for the 2021 NAIA Wrestling National Championships hosted by Visit Wichita on Monday. The 64th annual event takes place March 5-6 at Hartman Arena in Park City, Kan.
The allocations each conference/grouping received to the 2021 NAIA Men’s Wrestling National Championships were determined by a three-year average of a conference’s All-American honors and national tournament qualifiers. Each conference determined how to distribute their allocated berths to the national tournament.
Conference Allocations
Appalachian Athletic Conference - 19
American Midwest Conference - 14
Heart of America Athletic Conference - 47
Cascade Collegiate Conference - 32
Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference/Sooner Athletic Conference - 24
Great Plains Athletic Conference - 26
Mid-South Conference - 56
Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference - 22
Total: 240
There are four institutions bringing a full roster of 12 grapplers to the national stage. This included nine-time National Champions Grand View (Iowa), Reinhardt (Ga.), Life (Ga.) and Missouri Valley. Baker (Kan.) follows closely bringing 11 wrestlers to the national championship.
Preliminary brackets will be announced Friday, February 26th on www.naia.org.
