NICE, France – Alyssa Mahan and Maddie Kubicki received their draws for Friday’s women’s freestyle competition at the 52nd annual Henri Deglane Grand Prix of France being held at The Halle des Sports Charles-Ehrmann in Nice, France.

The duo returns to the international senior stage after competing in the 2025 Poland Open. Along with appearing at the Poland Open last year, Mahan and Kubicki had strong showings at the 2025 Women’s National Championships & World Team Trials, where Mahan placed second in the U23 division at 57 kg and Kubicki finished fourth at 65 kg in the U23 division.

Mahan and Kubicki – who compete at Presbyterian College – are both geared up for round robin brackets to start the Henri Deglane Grand Prix of France.

At 55 kg, Mahan will have four round robin bouts with the first coming against 2025 U20 World Championship Qualifier, Angela Crapio Casarola of Italy. In the second round, Mahan takes on Ivory Coast’s Nogona Bakayoko, who enters the tournament after capturing gold at the West African Championship at 59 kg.

Following a break during the third set of matches in the round robin, Mahan wraps up the opening part of the tournament against 2024 U20 World Silver Medalist Carla Jaume Soler of Spain before taking on Finland’s Jutta Ala Ranta to conclude round robin action.

Kubicki – who competed at the 2023 U20 World Championships – is set to take part at 65 kg with back-to-back matches against Anna Mazgajova of Czech Republic and Silja Kamppinen of Finland. Mazgajova is set to make her senior international debut this weekend, while Kamppinen returns to the senior stage for the first time since the 2023 Flatz Austria Open.

Women’s freestyle action begins at 10:30 a.m. local time/4:30 a.m. ET on Friday.
