The 2025 Brian Keck Memorial Preseason Nationals and Boys National High School Recruiting Showcase, the first major USA Wrestling national event of the 2025-26 season, takes over Iowa Events Center in Des Moines, Iowa, October 23-26.

As one of the leading preseason folkstyle event on the youth wrestling calendar, the festivities in Iowa will feature boys and girls competition from first grade all the way up through the high school level

The Boys National High School Recruiting Showcase is the premier division fans will see in Des Moines. Athletes entered must be pre-qualified for the Showcase. Qualification criteria includes a handful of notable achievements such as being a high school state champions, National Prep champions, USA Wrestling All-Americans and the like.

Three champions from last year’s Showcase are currently registered—Samuel Sanchez of California at 120 pounds, Demetrios Carrera of Illinois at 132 pounds and Ashton Honnold of Iowa at 285 pounds. Notably, Sanchez is a two-time U17 World champion in men’s freestyle.

On the girls high school side, the 9-12 grade division is perennially loaded with elite national talent. Three girls are expected to be back for an attempted repeat run—Aubree Gutierrez of California at 110 pounds, Caley Graber of Minnesota at 125 pounds and Landri VonGonten of Texas at 130 pounds.

All told, there are 76 individual champions across all divisions from 2024 coming back to Des Moines, 49 for the boys and 27 for the girls. The tournament sits at over 4,800 entries and has been extended from three to four days of wrestling to accommodate the expected record number of competitors.

USA Wrestling will release PIN ratings for the high school divisions (9-10 Grade Boys, 11-12 Grade Boys, 9-12 Grade girls, Boys High School Showcase) later this week. PIN ratings are the separation criteria used to evenly distribute top contenders across each bracket.

Custom medals will be presented to the top eight place winners in each weight class across all divisions. The Boys High School Showcase champions will earn a champion belt. This is the first leg of the USA Wrestling Triple Crown award for the girls competing in the 1-8 Grade divisions.

All the action from Des Moines will be available to watch live or on-demand on FloWrestling.com. FloWrestling offers a monthly subscription priced at $29.99 or an annual subscription for $150 to access its platform.

Brackets and updated match-by-match results will be available through USA Bracketing.

The Brian Keck Memorial Preseason Nationals is named in honor of Brian Keck as a tribute to his lasting legacy in the sport of wrestling. Before his passing in 2019, Keck worked tirelessly for 12 years to make the USA Wrestling Preseason Nationals a great success and provide athletes with the opportunity to compete against the best in the nation.
