A Senior World Team spot at 79 kg in men’s freestyle is on the line as Evan Wick and Levi Haines square off at 2025 Final X on Saturday, June 14 at Prudential Center.

Wick has put together a strong year in 2025. He won gold at the 2025 Senior Pan American Championships and added international experience by competing at two UWW Ranking Series events – the Zagreb Open in Zagreb, Croatia, and the Muhamet Malo in Tirana, Albania. Wick earned his Final X berth by winning the 2025 U.S. Open in Las Vegas in late April.

Wick is seeking his first World Team appearance at any age level. Collegiately, Wick is a four-time NCAA All-American, spending his career at both Wisconsin and Cal Poly.

Haines brings a blend of collegiate and freestyle success. The Penn State standout is a 2024 NCAA champion, 2023 NCAA runner-up and finished third in 2025, making him a three-time All-American.

In freestyle, he placed seventh at the 2021 U17 World Championships and won gold at the 2025 U23 Pan American Championships in early April. He secured his Final X spot by winning the Senior World Team Trials Challenge Tournament in Louisville, Ky.

The pair have met once before, at the 2024 Senior World Team Trials in Omaha, Nebraska. Leading 8-4, Haines pinned Wick at 5:42 in the consolation rounds.

Final X will determine the 2025 U.S. World Team in two international disciplines—men’s freestyle and women’s freestyle. In total, 20 weight classes will be contested, 10 in each discipline. The top two U.S. athletes in each weight classes will wrestle a best-of-three series at Final X to determine the U.S. representative at the 2025 Senior World Championships in Zagreb, Croatia.

Both Wick and Haines will be making their Final X debut in June.

Final X will serve as the Beat the Streets New York Annual Benefit, the 15th BTSNY Annual Benefit to date. These unique electrifying events help BTSNY raise more than $1 million each year to support local youth wrestling programs which empower young people in New York City. The BTSNY Annual Benefit after-party will follow the conclusion of Final X.

Final X marks the first Beat the Streets event for both Wick and Haines.

Benefit tickets and sponsorship packages (Final X plus exclusive after party celebration access), that also provide the best wrestling-event seats, are available at btsny.org. Proceeds from Benefit tickets and sponsorship packages will directly help BTSNY serve NYC youth.
