Tricia Saunders High School Excellence Award: Piper Fowler

Piper Fowler of Cleveland, Tennessee, is the 2025 national recipient of the Tricia Saunders High School Excellence Award, which honors the nation’s most outstanding senior female high school wrestler.

The Hall of Fame’s High School Excellence Awards are proudly sponsored by the Hyman Family, whose generous support and passion for the sport help ensure the continued recognition and development of wrestling’s next generation.

A trailblazer and four-time undefeated Tennessee state champion for Cleveland High School, Fowler compiled a flawless 93-0 career record, helping her team to three state titles and a third-place finish.

Fowler’s leadership extended beyond her individual accolades, she was instrumental in launching the girls wrestling team at Cleveland High School, where she earned Outstanding Wrestler honors at the 2024 state tournament and was named the Catherine Neely Female Athlete of the Year. On the national and international stage, she earned gold at the 2023 U17 World Championships, represented Team USA again in 2024, and won back-to-back Junior Nationals titles in 2023 and 2024.

A champion at Fargo, Super 32, and the NHSCA nationals, Fowler has consistently competed—and triumphed—at the highest levels.

Off the mat, she shines just as brightly. A Raider Scholar and Academic Honor Roll student, she is a member of the Leadership Council and the Criminal Justice Club. She actively serves in her church youth group, volunteers in local elementary schools, and is an ambassador for ATS the Bridge, where she advocates against drug use and vaping.

The daughter of Zack and McKenzie Fowler, Piper will continue her wrestling and academic journey at William Penn University. Her brother, Logan, a 2024 Dave Schultz High School Excellence Award winner currently wrestles at the U.S. Air Force Academy.

For her exceptional wrestling achievements, academic excellence, and commitment to community service, the National Wrestling Hall of Fame proudly honors Piper Fowler as the 2025 Tricia Saunders High School Excellence Award recipient.
