WLAG/UFC Girls Freestyle clinic featuring Tamyra Mensah Stock & Tarkyia Mensah in Las Vegas, June 27-28

Wrestle Like A Girl is teaming with the UFC for a special two-day Girls Freestyle Clinic featuring Olympic and World champion Tamyra Mensah Stock, and her sister Tarkyia Mensah, the new head women’s wrestling coach at Carthage College.

The clinic will be held Friday, June 27 and Saturday, June 28 at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nev., as part of UFC International Fight Week. The clinic is available to girls ages 5-18.

Tamyra Mensah Stock made history at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan, where she won the Olympic gold medal in women’s freestyle at 68 kg. She became the first African American to win an Olympic gold medal in women’s freestyle wrestling. Mensah Stock was a 2019 Senior World champion and won Senior World bronze medals in 2018 and 2021. She was a three-time Ivan Yarygin Grand Prix champion in Russia (2017-19), the first U.S. wrestler to reach this feat. Mensah Stock was a two-time WCWA national champion for Wayland Baptist University. She is currently a star with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE).

In May, Tarkiya Mensah was named the new head coach at Carthage College in Wisconsin. She served three years as the head women’s coach at Schreiner University in Texas. She led Schreiner to two SLIAC conference titles and improved her team’s performance each season. Mensah was a three-time All-American at Wayland Baptist, where he was a teammate with her sister Tamyra. Tarkyia was also a two-time USA Wrestling University Nationals champion while in college.

The cost for the full weekend, including two tickets to UFC X, is $100. Single-day clinic only tickets are $35 per day.
