LIMA, Peru – The Team USA women secured a 10-for-10 medal haul, including six gold medals, on Friday at the 2025 U20 Pan American Championships.
Taking home the Golden Boot Award as the tournament’s outstanding wrestler in women’s freestyle was 55 kg champion Aspen Blasko of Minnesota. Blasko made it look effortless on the mats with a perfect 4-0 record that featured three first-period pins and a 10-0 technical fall to boot. Blasko was a NCWWC All-American for Grand Valley State back in March and was a 2024 U.S. Marine Corps Junior Nationals champion.
Oklahoma native Bella Williams reeled in her second age-group Pan American title of the season with a stellar performance at 59 kg. Like Blasko, Williams posted a 4-0 record with three pins and a shutout technical fall. Both were neck-and-neck for the Golden Boot. Williams won the U23 Pan American title earlier this year and was runner-up at Women’s Nationals in the U20 and U23 divisions.
Another dominant U.S. effort came from 2024 U20 World Team member Cadence Diduch at 65 kg. It was three 10-0 technical falls, plus a first-period pin, that sent Diduch atop the podium in Lima. It was the second age-group Pan American title for the Iowa Hawkeye.
Additional champions for Team USA included Gabriele Tedesco at 50 kg, Alexandra Waitsman at 53 kg and Keeley Kehrli at 72 kg. Both Tedesco and Waitsman were runners-up at the 2025 Women’s Nationals and earned NCWWC All-America honors last season. Kehrli was third at Women’s Nationals.
Silver medals went to 2024 U20 World Team member Carissa Qureshi at 57 kg, plus NCWWC All-Americans Lilly Luft at 62 kg and Zoey Lints at 68 kg. All three came in second place at Women’s Nationals. 76 kg representative Stella Steigler bagged the lone bronze medal.
All told, the U.S. women gathered a 31-5 combined record with a staggering 24 victories by pin and seven by technical fall.
Team USA put up 225 points in the team standings to outpace the field. Canada finished in second place with 190 team points. Mexico rounded out the top three with 142 team points.
The tournament continues tomorrow with the men’s freestyle competition. Action begins at 10 a.m. local time, with the finals set for 5 p.m. Lima, Peru, is located one hour behind of U.S. Eastern Time.
Brackets for each style and match-by-match results are available on UWW Arena. A live stream of the event can be found at FloWrestling.com.
