ROCKLIN, Calif. – With quiet confidence and determination, Head Coach David Rivera and his staff navigated the mine field that is the State Tournament to capture their 3rd consecutive title. In a tournament littered with upsets, Rivera and company stood strong throughout. Back-to-back state titles from Jason Saenz at 141, Maxximus Martinez at 157, combined with Dib Sawaya at 285, were more than enough to keep Cerritos College in their rear-view mirror.

The Cerritos Falcons fell short of chasing down the Mounties, but finished well ahead of the hard-charging Rams from Fresno City. Impressive showings from Victor Valley, Palomar and Sacramento City rounded out the top 5 team scoring. 125 lbs. Champion, Connor Jeong, led an improved squad from Santa Rosa to their 7th-place finish. Cuesta College finished 8th with 2 finalists, including Outstanding Wrestler, Preston Scharf.
