Martin Margolis, Travis Olmstead join USA Wrestling staff

USA Wrestling is excited to announce the hire of Martin Margolis to the national staff as Event Operations Assistant, and Travis Olmstead to the national staff as Junior Application Developer. Both began working full-time with the organization in late July.

Pete Isais, Director of National Events, expressed his enthusiasm about the new hire, stating that the team is thrilled to welcome Martin. “Having someone who understands the sport from the inside out is a great asset,” Isais said. “His addition to the team is a huge step forward for us, and we look forward to the contributions he’ll bring to the events team.”

Margolis brings an impressive amount of wrestling knowledge and experience to the USA Wrestling Events Department. Prior to joining the staff at USA Wrestling, Margolis worked with Athlete Performance Solutions during his time at Grand View University.

Margolis began his wrestling career at Clackamas Community College, where he was a part of two National Championship teams and earned All-America honors on the wrestling mat. He then transferred to Grand View University to wrestle and complete his education, where he was a part of three NAIA National Championship teams. While at Grand View, Margolis earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and a Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership.

USA Wrestling is also pleased to welcome Olmstead to the team as a Junior Application Developer. Olmstead graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and brings valuable experience from his previous role as Lead PHP and Web Developer at Healthcare Integrations, LLC.

At Healthcare Integrations, LLC, Olmstead was instrumental in building production-level software applications for the healthcare system, showcasing his abilities and technical expertise.

Dave Mathews, Director of Application Development, praised the new addition, saying, “Travis is a great addition to our team. He brings energy and a fresh point of view to help us continue to grow.” Mathews emphasized that Travis “will be a key piece to their future success with the USA Wrestling Membership System as well as USA Bracketing.”
