USA Wrestling launches wrestling-specific Mentorship and Training Initiative for National Team
by USA Wrestling
USA Wrestling is thrilled to launch a wrestling-specific Mentorship and Training initiative aimed at empowering National Team athletes and coaches for their future beyond the mat.
This concept was envisioned and created by USA Wrestling at the suggestion of its members Shon Lewis and Thomas C. Dantzler, who will also serve as members of the subcommittee overseeing this new project.
USA Wrestling will invest in a diverse range of resources and experiences to make the program meaningful to those who participate, with a goal of taking a strategic approach to channeling the rich experiences of athletes into leadership and executive roles within the sporting industry and beyond. By providing support and guidance on ways to use their skills, knowledge, and passion beyond the mat, this program will provide support to athletes as they create their legacy in life beyond competition.
Funding for this initiative was included in the USA Wrestling Fiscal Year 2024-25 budget, which was approved by USA Wrestling’s Board of Directors on August 19, 2024.
