Air Force Special Warfare Junior National Duals has loaded boys and girls fields in Tulsa, June 19-22

TULSA, Oklahoma – Many of the nation’s best high school boy and girl wrestlers will represent their state teams at the 2024 Air Force Special Warfare Junior National Duals, hosted at the Cox Business Convention Center, June 19-22.
On Wednesday and Thursday, the Junior Men’s Greco-Roman division and the Junior Women’s freestyle division will be contested. The event concludes on Friday and Saturday, with Junior Men’s freestyle and Junior Women’s Greco-Roman taking to the mats.
For Junior men, there were 41 freestyle teams registered and 38 Greco-Roman teams. For Junior women, there were 41 freestyle teams and 20 Greco-Roman teams signed up.

Among the stars competing in the Junior Men’s Freestyle Duals are 2023 Junior National freestyle champions Rocco Hayes of Illinois (106), Hakkon Peterson of Wisconsin (126), Vince Bouzakis of Pennsylvania (157), Connor Mirasola of Wisconsin (215) and Koy Hopke of Wisconsin (285), plus 2023 Junior National freestyle runners-up Tyler Harper of Iowa (120), Aaron Seidel of Pennsylvania (132), Daniel Zepeda of California (144) and Cole Mirasola of Wisconsin (215).
Among the stars competing in the Junior Women’s Freestyle Duals are 2023 Junior Nationals women’s freestyle champions Aubre Krazer of Pennsylvania (130), Kaidance Gerg of Idaho (130), Eduarda Rodrigues of California (155), Naomi Simon of Iowa (170), Sabrina Nauss of Michigan (235) and Savannah Isaac of Ohio (235), plus 2023 Junior Nationals women’s freestyle runners-up Zao Estrada of South Carolina (120), Lexie Lopez of Colorado (125) and Sydney Perry of Illinois (145).
Among the stars competing in the Junior Men’s Greco-Roman Duals are 2023 Junior Greco-Roman champions Caden Correll of Illinois (106), Isaiah Cortez of California (132), Otto Black of Colorado (138) and Landon Drury of Colorado (144) plus 2023 Junior Greco-Roman runners-up Ezekiel Witt of Kansas (120), Kody Tanimoto of Texas (120) and Shilo Jones of Idaho (285).
Greco-Roman is not contested for girls at the Junior or 16U levels, but is a style offered at USA Wrestling Regional Championships. The field for Women’s Greco-Roman includes numerous Regional champions and placewinners, as well as athletes with national achievements in both freestyle and folkstyle.
In the 2023 Junior Nationals Duals in men's freestyle, Illinois came out on top in eight of the 15 weight classes, including seven bonus point victories to defeat Ohio Scarlet, 39-29. Capturing third place was Wisconsin, which won five of the final six matches to defeat Iowa, 39-28. In the in-state battle for fifth place, Oklahoma Red defeated Oklahoma Blue, 36-31. Seventh place went to Minnesota Blue, 37-33 winners over Idaho.
In the 2023 Women’s Junior National Duals in freestyle, Missouri Fire which won eight of the 14 matches to defeat Michigan Blue, 39-28. Third place went to a tough Pennsylvania Blue team, which stopped Ohio Red, 44-20. Colorado handled California Red 43-23 to claim fifth place. Iowa won seven of the first nine bouts to sail to a 40-24 victory over Arizona Black to place seventh.
Winning the 2023 Junior National Men’s Duals in Greco-Roman, Illinois was the team champions, defeating California Gold, 44-21. Third place went to Iowa, a 34-30 winner of Idaho. Claiming fifth place was Colorado, which defeated Oklahoma Blue, 57-11 in the medal round. Pennsylvania placed seventh, with a 49-23 victory over Oklahoma Red.
California Red completed a thrilling 39-28 victory over Colorado in the 2023 Junior Women’s Duals Greco-Roman championship match, winning eight of the 14 matches. Five athletes picked up pins, leading Utah to a 48-21 decision over Oklahoma Red to capture third place. Finishing in fifth place was Michigan, who cruised past Kansas in the placement match, 47-19. In the seventh place match, Texas Red edged Pennsylvania Blue, 36-30, in a dual that came down to the wire.
