Tickets on sale today for the National Collegiate Women’s Wrestling Championships in Cedar Rapids, Iowa

Tickets go on sale to the general public on Monday, January 22 at 10:00 a.m. CT for the National Collegiate Women’s Wrestling Championships (NCWWC), the annual national championships for NCAA women’s wrestling programs,


The NCWWC will be held at the Alliant Energy PowerHouse in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, March 8-9, 2024. Sports fans will now be able to get tickets to one of the most exciting and fastest growing sports in the United States for women.


Tickets will be sold through Ticket Master and will include an All-Session ticket, or tickets for each of the four individual sessions. Handicap seating is available.

The NCWWC currently includes NCAA programs from the Division I, II and III levels. Athletes must qualify for the NCWWC through six Regional Qualifiers. This will be the fifth year for this national tournament. It will be the second straight year that this prestigious event will be held at the Alliant Energy PowerHouse. Previous locations were at Adrian College in Michigan and Tiffin University in Ohio.


The defending NCWWC team champion is North Central College (Illinois). The champion of the first three NCWWC Nationals was McKendree University (Illinois).


Women’s Wrestling is currently an NCAA Emerging Sport. Last year, NCAA women’s wrestling had over 40 programs which met specific requirements and is now eligible for consideration for an official NCAA Championships, which could be achieved as early as the 2025-26 season.


For local wrestling fans, NCAA universities from Iowa which are competing in women’s wrestling this season are the University of Iowa, the University of Dubuque, Simpson College, Wartburg College, Cornell College and Central College.


The 2024 NCWWC is being organized by Wrestle Like A Girl. The competition is supported by a coalition of national wrestling organizations including Wrestle Like A Girl, USA Wrestling, the National Wrestling Coaches Association, the National Wrestling Hall of Fame and D1 Women’s Wrestling. The event is also being supported locally by the Cedar Rapids Tourism Office.
