One of the highlights for the season takes place on Tuesday night, as the NWCA All-Star Classic will be hosted at historic Rec Hall at Penn State University.

This annual showcase of college wrestling, featuring matches in men’s folkstyle and women’s freestyle, brings together top stars from around the nation. Action begins at 7:00 p.m. ET

NCAA No. 1 Penn State has five wrestlers who will compete, Shayne Van Ness (149), Carter Starocci (174), Bernie Truax (184), Aaron Brooks (197) and Greg Kerkvliet (285).

No. 1 ranked Div. I wrestlers in the men’s bouts included Starocci, Brooks, Kerkvliet, Anthony Noto of Lock Haven (125) and Parker Keckeisen of UNI (184).

Included in the 10 men’s matches is a 157-pound battle between NCAA Div. II star Nick Novak of St. Cloud State and NCAA Div. III star Nolan Hertel of UW-LaCrosse.

There are four women’s showdowns, three of which have battles between a star from an NCAA team against a star from an NAIA team. There are a pair of No. 1 vs. No. 1 matches – Adaugo Nwachukwu of NAIA William Penn vs. Yele Aycock of NCAA North Central at 136 pounds, plus Marlynne Deede of NCAA Iowa vs. Latifah McBryde from NAIA Life at 160 pounds.

There are 15 different men’s teams represented and five different women’s teams featured on the card.
