by USA Wrestling
The 57 kg final of the 2020 UWW Junior Nationals was must-watching wrestling. Michigan freshman Dylan Ragusin and Angelo Rini lit up the board with 23 points in an action-packed match.
Coming up through the ranks, Ragusin was more known for his Greco-Roman prowess, competing on the 2017 Cadet World Team and the 2019 Junior World Team. However, he opened a lot of eyes at the 2020 Senior Nationals, knocking of No. 3 on the National Team Darian Cruz and making the finals.
Rini is a 2019 Fargo Junior freestyle champion. As a freshman, he earned Second Team All-Ivy League honors wrestling for Columbia and compiled a 26-10 record. At the UWW Junior Nationals, Rini represented the NYC RTC, but he isn’t listed on Columbia’s roster for the 2020-2021 season.
