Beat the Streets USA is helping promote these two activities this week, dealing with the crisis in youth sports.
Round table on the crisis in youth sports
Date: Wednesday, November 18, 2020
Time: 12:00 - 1:15 p.m. PST
Location: Zoom webinar - Connection details provided upon registration
Beat the Streets Bay Area, BTS Chicago and BTS National in partnership with the California RTC are hosting a round table on the crisis in youth sports.
Discussions will include the challenges posed to urban sports programs pre-pandemic and how the changes in school budgets will drastically widen the gap between Urban and Suburban sports opportunities. The panel will include experts in the field of youth sports, school administration, and youth sports fundraising.
Join the esteemed panel in its discussion on how the defunding and decline of school based athletics with the emergence of private club sports is hurting youth in our most disadvantaged communities and impacting educational equity of K-12 education. This trend is being accelerated and magnified by the COVID-19 crisis and has been profiled in the NY Times Article: “The Lack of Youth Sports is a Crisis”.
