Six-time National Team member Jon Anderson returned to action in 2019 after a several year hiatus from competition. Anderson, a West Point graduate and active duty military member, was deployed to Afghanistan for 9 months in 2018. During the 2019 World Team Trials, Anderson was training ROTC Cadets at Fort Knox in Kentucky.
After a, 0-1, performance at the 2019 Bill Farrell International in late November, Anderson bounced back by winning the 2019 Senior Nationals in December. In the semifinals, Anderson faced two-time Oklahoma State All-American Chandler Rogers. Winning this match secured Anderson’s title, as he received a forfeit over Pat Martinez in the finals.
