Media reports Anthony Cassar and Kyle Conel out for the season for Penn State

Various media outlets are reporting that Penn State Head Coach Cael Sanderson has announced that returning NCAA champion Anthony Cassar and 2018 All-American Kyle Conel are both finished wrestling for the season. Sanderson announced the news at his weekly media session.
Black Shoes Diary stated that Seth Nevills will have has redshirt pulled and fill in at heavyweight, while Conel will be replaced at 197 pounds by 2018 All-American at 184 pounds Shakur Rasheed.

Cassar and Conel have both been plagued with injuries throughout their college careers. Last year, the NCAA granted Cassar an additional two years of eligibility. Conel, a graduate transfer from Kent State who missed nearly all of last season, was also granted an additional year of eligibility due to injuries.
Penn State has won the last four NCAA tournaments and finished as champions at seven of the last eight.
