Save the Date for Beat the Streets LA’s Benefit and International Competition on May 16

The date is set for Beat the Streets Los Angeles’ sixth-annual Benefit and International Competition! On May 16, some of the top women’s freestyle wrestlers from USA and Canada will go head-to-head in a friendly competition inside the Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles.
Fans in attendance can not only expect to see some exciting wrestling, they will also have the chance to shake hands and snap selfies with some of the 2020 Olympians from USA and Canada.
The competition will be followed by a silent auction as well as video presentations, sharing the impact that Beat the Streets Los Angeles has had on its community.
"Our organization empowers and transforms the lives of youth through the sport of wrestling,” said Beat the Streets Los Angeles Founder and Board Chairman Andy Barth. “This annual benefit plays a critical role in helping us fundraise to support our mission. In addition, the benefit highlights the transformational stories of the youth in our programs and the growth of women’s wrestling.”
Founded in 2012, Beat the Streets Los Angeles strives to be a leader in the sports-based youth development movement by creating sustainable wrestling programs accessible to all youth in Los Angeles and its surrounding communities.
Since its inception, Beat the Streets Los Angeles has touched the lives of thousands of girls and boys with 26 programs across the area, and has awarded more than 600 scholarships to some premier wrestling camps.
The Beat the Streets Los Angeles Benefit and International Competition has become a highlight event on the annual USA Wrestling schedule. The event’s influence has helped promote one of the fastest growing sports in the nation and world, women’s wrestling. Bringing elite women wrestlers to Los Angeles helps inspire the growing number of girls in the region who participate in this great sport.
