USA sends talented Greco-Roman squad to Junior Pan Am Championships in Guatemala

The U.S. Junior Greco-Roman Pan Am team features some exciting talent for the 2019 Junior Pan American Championships, which will take place June 5-7 in Guatemala City, Guatemala.

Two athletes, Hunter Lewis (63 kg) and Max Wohlabaugh (82 kg), have represented the USA at a Cadet World Championships. A few others have medaled at international tournaments, including Benji Peak (67 kg), Calvin Germinaro (72 kg) and Keaton Fanning (87 kg).

Leading the squad is Zach Ison, the assistant coach at Archbishop Moeller High School in Cincinnati, Ohio.

The 2019 Junior Pan American Championships begin with Greco-Roman action on June 5, followed by women’s freestyle on June 6 and closing with men’s freestyle on June 7.

55 kg: Billy Sullivan (Las Vegas, Nev./Legends of Gold) – 2nd at 2019 Junior World Team Trials, 2018 Junior Greco Fargo All-American

60 kg: Haiden Drury (Toppenish, Wash./Takedown Express WC) - 2nd at 2019 Junior World Team Trials, 2018 Cadet Greco Fargo champion, 2017 Cadet Greco Fargo All-American

77 kg: Isaiah Alford (Lincoln, Neb./MWC) - 2nd at 2019 Junior World Team Trials, 2017 Cadet Fargo All-American, freshman at Nebraska

82 kg: Max Wohlabaugh (Winter Springs, Fla./Clarion RTC) – 2016 Cadet World Team member, 2nd at 2019 Junior World Team Trials, 2015 Cadet Greco Fargo champion, 2016 Junior Fargo runner-up (FS and GR), junior at Clarion

87 kg: Keaton Fanning (Bedford, Texas/NMU-OTS) - 2nd at 2019 Junior World Team Trials, 2018 Klippan cup silver medalist, sophomore at Northern Michigan

97 kg: Braxton Amos (Mineral Wells, W.V./Team Miron) – 3rd at 2019 Junior World Team Trials, two-time Cadet Greco Fargo champion, two-time Cadet Freestyle Fargo champion
