Reece Humphrey went 2-0 at 70 kg with wins over competitors from Portugal and Azerbaijan at the Beach Wrestling World Series in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Humphrey won his first match over Portugal, 3-0, on the strength of a three-point, feet-to-back single leg takedown. Beach Wrestling matches end when one competitor reaches three points.

In his victory over Azerbajian, Humphrey was losing 1-1 on criteria with ten seconds left before putting four points on the board in two different sequences to win 5-1. He clinched it with a three-point, feet-to-back double leg takedown.

Humphrey has one more match in his pool tomorrow, and then he will be drawn into the semifinals.
