Colon, Megaludis, Dieringer, Leathers, Campbell get draws for Medved International on Saturday

MINSK, Belarus – Five U.S. National Team members have weighed in and received their draws for their weight class competition in freestyle wrestling at the Alexander Medved International on Saturday. Included are three men’s freestyle wrestlers and two women’s freestyle wrestlers.
On the men’s side, Joe Colon (Fresno, Calif./Titan Mercury WC/Valley RTC), a 2018 Final X runner-up and No. 2 on the national team, will compete at 61 kg. He opens with Pingping Zhou of China, who competed in the 2017 U23 World Championships.
The other two U.S. men, both ranked No. 3 on this year’s National Team, are Nico Megaludis (State College, Pa./Titan Mercury WC/Nittany Lion WC) at 61 kg and Alex Dieringer (Stillwater, Okla./Titan Mercury WC/Cowboy WC) at 79 kg.
Both face tough Ukrainian opponents, with as Megaludis opens with 2017 World Team member Ivan Bileichuk and Dieringer faces Rustam Dudaiev, who was fifth in the 2014 World Championships.
The two U.S. women taking the mat on Saturday are 2017 World bronze medalist Becka Leathers (Chapel Hill, N.C./Titan Mercury WC/Tarheel WC) and 2012 Olympian Kelsey Campbell, Tempe, Ariz. (Sunkist Kids), both wrestling at 57 kg.
Leathers draws 2017 U23 World silver medalist Battsetseg Altantsetseg of Mongolia and Campbell faces Valeryia Yarmola of Belarus.
