USA Wrestling has adjusted its weigh-in card pick-up procedure and its bracketing process for all of the USA Wrestling UWW-level national competitions for the rest of the 2018 season. These rules are in affect beginning next week, when the UWW Junior Freestyle Junior World Team Trials and the Senior Freestyle World Team Trials Challenge Tournament are held in Rochester, Minn.

The new procedures include:

• Onsite/Late registration and weigh-in card pick up for all pre-registered athletes will take place approximately 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm the day before their official weigh-in.

It is mandatory for ALL athletes/coaches to pick up weigh-in cards during this time.

• Seeding meeting (where appropriate) will take place at approximately 7:00pm the day before their official weigh-in.

• Preliminary brackets will be released at approximately 8:30 pm the day before wrestling starts for that division.

All times are for the current time zone in which the event is taking place in. Please check the specific event website for the exact time for onsite/late registration and weigh-in card pickup, as well as any scheduled seeding meeting.

This is being done to help make tournament operations more efficient, as well as to help better promote these important USA Wrestling events to the public. By making late registration and weigh-in card pickup mandatory on the night before, tournament staff will be able to hold seeding meetings and produce the brackets for the tournament the night before as well.

With this new process, fans, coaches, athletes and families will be able to know the draw the night before, giving everybody more time to review the brackets and prepare for the competition.

Any changes in the brackets caused by the weigh-ins will be able to quickly be adjusted prior to the start of the first session.

The events affected by the new procedures are:

• UWW Junior Men’s Freestyle World Team Trials, Rochester, Minn., May 18-19

• Senior Freestyle World Team Trials Challenge Tournament, Rochester, Minn., May 18-20

• U23 Men’s World Team Trials, Akron, Ohio, June 1-3

• UWW Cadet World Team Trials, Akron, Ohio, June 1-3

• UWW Junior Greco-Roman World Team Trials, Indianapolis, Ind., June 8

• Senior Greco-Roman World Team Trials, Tulsa, Okla., June 21-22
