Skinner, Tagg, Decatur, Lewan and Hoffman receive draws for Cadet World Championships

ATHENS, Greece – The U.S. Cadet men’s freestyle team is set to begin its 2017 Cadet World Championships in Athens, Greece, after receiving draws for Friday’s competition.
Representing the U.S. at the lightest weight is Cadet freestyle All-American Cole Skinner, who will face Alihasan Amiril of Azerbaijan at 42 kg/92 lbs.
At 50 kg/110 lbs., 2016 Cadet freestyle national champion Julian Tagg will suit up for the Red, White and Blue. To open his tournament, Tagg drew Danila Shyrokan of Belarus, who enters his third Cadet World Championships.
Two-time Cadet freestyle champion Jordan Decatur will come face-to-face with two-time Cadet World silver medalist and two-time Cadet European champion Georgios Pilidis of Greece in his first match at 58 kg/128 lbs.
Will Lewan, who won the Cadet World Team Trials in both freestyle and Greco-Roman at 69 kg/152 lbs., will open his tournament against 2017 Cadet Asian bronze winner Vishal Kaliramana from India.
At 85 kg/187 lbs. two-time Cadet freestyle All-American Gavin Hoffman takes on David Losonczi of Hungary, who placed 11th in 2017 Cadet European Championships.
With the new two-day format, wrestlers will compete through the semifinals in their first day of competition with repechage and medal matches to be contested the following day.
The preliminary men’s freestyle rounds and women’s freestyle repechage begin at 10:30 a.m. local time (3:30 a.m. ET), with semifinals beginning at 5:30 p.m. local time (10:30 a.m. ET).
